Each day Monday through Thursday, we have journal topic to write about. We are studying how to write a complete paragraph.
Expectations include:
Write legibly in Journal (keep track of it daily)
Topic sentence (a general statement that includes question in the topic)
Three or more supporting details
A closing sentence
Then edit paragraph: Does it make sense? Check for punctuation, capital letters in proper places, and spelling strategies

Journal Topics for 3rd Trimester:
March 21st: It's the 1st day of Spring! Write a poem about the sights, sounds and smells of spring.
March 22nd: 2nd paragraph due for animal report: On binder paper, write what your animal eats. Is it predator or prey? How does it survive in the wild? 5-10 sentences. Edit!
March 23rd: Imagine you entered a time capsule and you are now living 50 years in the future. What would your school or home be like? Explain.
March 24th: 1989 oil spill in Alaska..write about an animal's point of view OR Pretend you are having a conversation with a bear that just woke up from his winter nap. What might your conversation be?
